Venue

The venue for Drop In tennis consists of doubles matches. As players arrive they go to a court requiring an additional player. When there are four players on a court, the new arrival goes to the next court and picks a partner. All matches are 'no-ad' and normally scored as 1,2,3,4. First team to 4 wins that game. When all players have served once, the match is over. The team with the majority of wins advances. If the match ends in a 2-2 tie, there is a one service tie break. The team winning the spin of the racket can choose to serve or receive. The receiving team can determine who receives the serve. Winner of the tie-break advances. All matches should end at about the same time. When play ends on all courts, the winners advance to the West court and the losers move to the East court. Both teams split up and get new partners. All attempts should be made so you don't play with the same partner more than once during the morning session. At the end of the session, you are requested to join other players for coffee at Einstein's Bagels on the corner of 19th Avenue and Northern.

Note: Mark Barry held a musical event at the Duck and Decanter in 2012 where several of the Drop In members attended. A great event and gathering.
